About
Pilates
The Pilates reformer or apparatus is a revolutionary piece of conditioning equipment developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 1900s for rehabilitation. Some of the first people treated by Pilates were soldiers returning from war and dancers such as Martha Graham and George Balanchine (to strengthen their bodies and heal their aches and pains).
At Studio Ménage, the apparatus is at the forefront of our Pilates practice. The reformer is a low-impact strength and conditioning solution coupled with exercises that train balance, coordination, flexibility, and mind-body awareness.
